Buenos Aires — stories worldwide
Independent story scouts working the edges of belief.
We source stories from religious movements, spiritual ideologies and the communities who live inside them.
Groundwork
Cine Activist works out of Buenos Aires, sourcing stories worldwide. We look for narratives inside religious communities, putting in the time it takes to earn the story that will hook audiences. What you commission from us is the groundwork, finding the person who will speak on record and the evidence that the story holds up.
We see ourselves as cinematic activists: individuals who campaign for the story to be told right.
What We Do
-
Scouting
We follow leads that never make it into an archive search. Congregations that have shrunk to a dozen faithful families. Sects that have quietly outlived their founder and still keep his seat warm. Devotions carried by migration into cities that have no idea they arrived.
-
Access
Religious communities are asked for things constantly. We approach slowly, through people who will vouch for us. We are usually turned down at least once, and we take it well. Permission comes before a camera does.
-
Recorded Interviews
Long-form conversations captured to broadcast standard, logged and translated where needed. Spanish, Portuguese, Guaraní and Quechua are handled in-house or through fixers we have worked with for years.
-
The Package
A treatment, transcripts, named contacts who have agreed to take part, stills, location notes, followed by an honest assessment of what it will actually cost you to shoot there.

Every faith worth documenting has already spent centuries deciding who to trust. Our job is to get on that list, then bring back what we found there.
