About Cine Activist
Fluent in belief.

Cine Activist always begins a project with the same question: who has the story?
Faith moves people and communities to do extraordinary and unbelievable things. Somewhere inside those larger stories sits a smaller one – a specific face, a single moment, an important decision – a story that an audience will actually remember. Stories like that exist in enormous numbers; we have seen them. Sifting through the ones that will hold a screen from the ones that will not is our speciality at Cine Activist.
We see ourselves as cinematic activists: individuals who campaign for the story to be told right.
What We Hold To
What We Hold To
-
Belief taken seriously.
We read the theology before we ask the questions. A subject can tell within a minute whether you understand what they believe – and whether you are quietly laughing at it.
-
No story extracted against its will.
If a community says no, that is the end of it. We have walked away from strong material more than once, and we would do it again.
-
Truth as resistance to spectacle.
We believe in accuracy over drama. We flag the weak parts of a story before you find them yourself in the edit.
-
Anonymity honoured where it is asked for.
Much of what we handle involves private people in delicate situations. Names stay out of proposals until participants release them.
Where We Work
Where We Work

Buenos Aires is home. From there we cover the Southern Cone and travel further on assignment – up the Andes, into the Amazon basin, across American soil, to West Africa, the Levant and diaspora communities throughout Europe. The map is wide; the method never changes.
